Job Description:

As Manager Market Intelligence you will recommend, influence, plan and execute market research and analyses of syndicated studies and other industry reports for a specific customer segments (Consumer/Patient; HCP; Channel) across BUs based on an in-depth understanding of the products and segments, competitive environment, business model, and challenges/opportunities. Influence, together with Commercial Insights leadership, decision-making by brand/ BU leadership.

  • Maintain and pro-actively develop in-depth knowledge of specific customer segment, of broad methodological and approach expertise, of competitive environment, of business model, and of challenges/ opportunities, to identify and lead appropriate market intelligence efforts

  • Drive strategic and tactical decision-making for specific customer segments (Operational plans, forecasting, scenario planning) through identification and execution of timely, actionable, and methodologically sound research and analyses

  • Develop clear, actionable recommendations through synthesizing and integrating findings from a variety of sources

  • Design and oversee execution of all qualitative market research by vendors and provide clear, actionable recommendations; Ensure methodological soundness of approach

  • Conduct occasional medium-range complexity secondary data assessments as required for the overall analyses of market intelligence efforts

  • Conduct Competitive Intelligence efforts as needed, supervised by duly trained Competitive Intelligence officer

  • Provide and defend U.S. market respective brand team view in projects handled jointly with GSK market research teams ex-U.S. (global or other market)

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:


  • BA/Bachelor Science required

  • Business acumen needed

  • 5-8 years (including 2+ years in healthcare) or 2-5 years (2+ years in healthcare) with advanced degree preferred

  • 2+ years required of marketing or commercial analysis related experience (market research, marketing/sales analytics, forecasting, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:


  • MBA, MS, or MA in business, marketing science, or science preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to apply data and analyses to drive high impact business decisions

  • Strong business acumen

  • Ability to leverage and synthesize a broad range of information sources to develop insight and generate clear, actionable recommendations that impact decision-making at a business unit level

  • Deep understanding of the global pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong verbal and written communication/ presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively across a matrix environment and influence without formal authority

  • The ability to focus and thrive in times of change
