Sets up and operates equipment and production processing machines related to manufacturing strip products, including the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Has the ability to set up and operate all rolling, annealing, grinding, welding, slitting, flattening, leveling, packaging, and other misc. production equipment.
Selects appropriate operating parameters and is able to produce required products to specifications.
Has the ability to troubleshoot and correct problems related to the operation of applicable production equipment.
Has the skills to properly learn and earn the credentials to drive fork trucks and all other devices used to move materials throughout the plant
Performs quality checks to insure product meets internal and customer specifications using various measuring devices. Provides quality samples to the QC Lab for approval
Completes all required paperwork.
Performs training for other operators, as needed.
Performs all safety and quality checks on the equipment, and performs required preventive maintenance and other maintenance as required.
Must be able to perform multiple functions on a daily basis.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. PRIOR METALWORKING EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
