Marketing Communications Specialist

The Marketing Communications Specialist will collaborate with marketing product teams to fully understand the strategic goals for each product or service, including market and decision analyses, customer insights and communications objectives and barriers. The Marketing Communications Specialist will be expected to lead positioning and message development, message testing, and strategic communication planning and execution. You will be responsible for tactical communications project management and will lead the development of channel strategy and tactics.  Establishing and maintaining coordination between marketing and the in-house agency in the creation of all marketing collateral will be an important functional requirement. The role will eventually evolve to include interaction with other departments in order to assist in their communication needs.

The ideal candidate will have good writing skills and the ability to be a strategic partner with marketing colleagues. This individual must communicate clear and consistent messages that promote the organizations values and objectives.  Attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment are a must.

Your Responsibilities Your Profile

  • Produces communications materials utilizing established guidelines, processes and tools.  Effectively manages projects from inception through completion.

  • Tracks and maintains projects within identified budget, ensuring cost-saving measures where appropriate.

  • Understands basic finance principles and their implications to individual projects.

  • Establishes strong relationships with key clients; serving as a liaison for initiatives.

  • Partners with vendors to ensure that initiatives meet expectations.

  • Partners with colleagues in Berlin office to ensure that initiatives meet brand standards and style guidelines.

  • Partners with outside agencies to manage and complete projects on a cost-effective basis.

  • Reports on project impact and outcomes to aid in the planning for continuous improvement.

  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of communications trends and best in class practices as related to responsibilities.

  • Candidates will need to have 3+ years of marketing communications experience from either an advertising agency, as an Account Executive, or from a manufacturer - preferably in the medical technology industry. 

  • Requirements include experience collaborating strategically with marketing brand teams. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a communications related field, with three to five years’ work experience. 

  • Exceptional project management, organizational, writing and problem solving skills. 

  • Develop, manage and maintain a variety of internal and external communications channels, including print, media, web, KOL, etc.

  • Manage a variety of highly visible, time-sensitive and complex communications initiatives independently and in a team environment.  

  • Ability to establish positive relationships with internal and external clients, as well as strong relationship-building.

  • Ability to juggle projects requiring differing skill sets, while maintaining high standards on a tight schedule. 

  • The successful candidate has strong organizational skills to manage workflow and meet deadlines.
