Job Description:

Pratt & Whitney in E. Hartford is seeking a Structures Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities include:

  • You are responsible for the structural assessments of repairs to Commercial & Military engine components.

  • You have knowledge of IPD, Structures ESW, & the Product Design Review process.

  • You coordinate structural analysis requirements for repairs with module centers/CIPT's.

  • You work independently on structural analysis solutions when historical solutions are not available or applicable.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • You are the primary focal for structural analysis memos (SAMs)

  • You provide structures review/approval for all repair documents

  • You provide technical coaching

Basic Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Engineering or technical degree

  • 1-3 years of engineering experience

  • 1 year experience with ANSYS/NASTRAN or other FEA software

  • US citizenship is required due to government contract requirements

Preferred Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering; Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related Engineering field

  • Experience using P&W lifing (U553) & crack growth (SURCK) systems

  • Awareness of manufacturing repair processes and/or composites experience

  • Team player

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Possess excellent judgement and professional maturity

  • Analytical skills

  • Participation in process improvement efforts
