DESCRIPTION SHIFT: Mixed (rotating weekends)

SCHEDULE: Full-time

Accelerate your nursing career by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program. Our 16 week Nurse Graduate Program is designed to help you prepare to succeed in an acute care hospital setting. The program is comprised of a combination of didactic training, high definition simulation and clinical preceptorship.

As an RN in our StaRN program, you receive the education and support necessary to develop the judgment, skill and knowledge you'll need to become the highest caliber nurse. You will have the opportunity to be mentored by the best, most highly educated and trained nurses within our facilities.

During the StaRN program, you will work with instructors to complete class assignments, skills training and exercises. Then, you will work with your preceptor during the preceptorship that follows. OUR NEXT STARN PROGRAM WILL BEGIN JUNE 17, 2019. THIS POSITION WILL WORK IN OUR EMERGENCY ROOM.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE

· Cohort begins June 17th, and lasts for 16 weeks

· Phase 1: 8 weeks classroom, self-study, skills days, & facility clinical days with looping assignments (THESE CLASSES ARE TAUGHT IN MURRAY UT. THE SCHEDULE IS MONDAY - FRIDAY FROM 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM. MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND EACH CLASS PERIOD)

· Phase 2: 8 weeks clinical preceptorship (THREE 12 HOUR SHIFTS)

THIS POSITION REQUIRES A TWO YEAR, FULL TIME COMMITMENT. THE FIRST YEAR IS A COMMITMENT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AT OGDEN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER. THE SECOND YEAR IS ELIGIBLE TO TRANSFER TO ANOTHER UNIT AT OGDEN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, OR ANY OF OUR OTHER 185 HCA HOSPITALS AROUND THE COUNTRY.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Job Qualifications include:

* Current Licensure as an RN in Utah within three weeks of starting the program

* Applicants may apply for the program prior to passing the NCLEX exam
