Brief Description:

The Product Data Governance Team defines the rules that ensure our data is timely, accurate, complete and most importantly, fit for purpose for our customers’ use cases.  Members of the Product Data Governance team have responsibility for ensuring consistency and clarity of our data across our product portfolio.  The team works very closely with business partners to convert customer business needs into data solutions that power our customers’ businesses.

Key Responsibilities 

Facilitation– Steward the people, process and decisions necessary to ensure our data solutions delight our customers and exceed their expectations

Issue Resolution– Be the anchor point between technology and business partners.  Must communicate effectively and build strong relationships with technology and business partners and leadership to resolve product data issues using appropriate Data Governance policies and principles

Process Improvement– Lead cross-functional teams addressing process improvement opportunities within our global data supply chain

Ad Hoc Studies– Participate or lead deep dives into product and data issues.

Education/Experience


  • Undergraduate Degree in liberal arts or business; information management related degree preferred

  • 5-10 years of data experience, in particular within the B2B data marketplace.  Extensive experience directly related to data stewardship, governance of data in a large portfolio of customer facing products and driving data outcomes that delight customers.

  • Exceptional knowledge, in-depth understanding and experience with data collection and maintenance processes and in possession of a modern data governance skillset with practical experience driving data quality for customers.  The ability to communicate subject matter expertise effectively to both technology and business partners is essential.

  • Strong knowledge of D&B Products and differences between how data makes it way into UI products versus API products; Understanding of how existing products source data from both the local and global databases and the ability to envision improvements in the existing state to ensure data consistency for customers and the ability to communicate this vision to product teams.

  • Very good technical knowledge and understanding of how data flows from local country data stores into the D&B Global Data Supply Chain via GSRL and other standard process enablement such as trade payment data and experience and ability to communicate improvements for our customers to technology team partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems in highly complex business environment.  Must be a clear thinker who can articulate business decisions and gain business support.

  • Demonstrated communication skills and technical knowledge to coordinate issue resolution between Product, Data and Technology teams

  • Ability to independently prioritize workload across multiple initiatives, with excellent attention to detail.
