Job Description

Our Toledo Infrastructure group is looking to add a senior project engineer in the bridges group! Professional licensure required (PE).

Purpose of Position:
To apply diversified engineering principles and practices to design projects relative to an engineering discipline that encompass considerable scope and complexity

Essential Functions:
The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing:

* Use advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices in developing design

* Perform complex assignments requiring development of new and/or improved techniques and procedures

* Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as resource for design questions

* Participate in the interpretation, update, and/or creation of Standards of Practice

* Perform QA/QC on drawings from drafters, designers, and/or design engineers on project

* Perform the duties of a Project Engineer

* May serve as Bergmann contact for client, other design professionals, and contractors

* May act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects

* May serve on professional association committees for establishment of policies, standards, procedures, and research at a local, state, or national level

* May stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Engineer of Record for the project

* Establish & maintain positive relationships with co-workers, support and build others on the team and across disciplines/offices

* Be responsive to others and share information to improve efficiency and help others achieve goals; listen and engage in productive and critical debate

* Suggest new ideas and processes; stay informed of developments in practice areas; view obstacles as opportunities

Job Requirements

Education, Experience, Certifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Bachelors degree in Engineering in related discipline from an accredited university required; masters preferred

* 7-12 years or more in bridge engineering/design

* Registered as a Professional Engineer in applicable state(s) required

* Demonstrated extensive experience in all areas of a given discipline and specialized expertise in one or more related areas

* Proficient in use and understanding of the appropriate CAD and/or applicable design software
