DESCRIPTION SHIFT: PRN
SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem
The Ultrasound Tech will provide optimum patient care while performing various Ultrasound exams in the Radiology Department, such as gallbladder, abdominal, testicular, pelvic, and OB sonography. They will successfully perform all Ultrasound exams per department standards. The Ultrasound Tech must be able to correctly identify cross sectional anatomy on all images for the Radiologist, identify all areas of interest and image anatomy in varied patient positions, and be able to do so under difficult patient conditions.
Among additional responsibilities of the Ultrasound Tech are recognizing and reporting equipment malfunctions, immediate cleaning of all equipment used after each patient, proper use of all PPE per hospital standards, correctly charging all exams, and immediate submission of exams for viewing by the Radiologist. The Ultrasound Tech will perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Radiology, the Medical Director of Radiology and/or the Shift Supervisor

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED and graduate of a school of Radiology and/ or graduate of a program in Ultrasound
EXPERIENCE: Two years of previous clinical experience
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES: ARRT, RDCS, RDMS, RVT or RCVT certification; must obtain required CEU's in each the renewal period as required by certification. Must be registry eligible.
