The Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for level II and tier III support on and services for E. & J. Gallo Winery, globally.  This includes designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting service across the entire enterprise network. Diagnose hardware problems, replace hardware components as necessary and/or place service calls for hardware under maintenance.  Identify software problems and resolve end user questions. This includes providing assistance in use of hardware, operating systems and applications for complex projects. The role is also responsible to help identify, analyze, document and manage the implementation of both short term tactical as well as longer term strategic solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness and service quality.

What You Will Do

Daily Operations Support


  • Order, procure and provision platforms.  Troubleshoot OS’s

  • Backup, restore and migrate data via client and cloud services

  • Linux and Windows server management

  • Create, manage, decommission servers on prem and in cloud

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software on enterprise server and storage platforms 

  • Replace hardware and migrate data onsite 

  • Knowledge of approved infrastructure applications third-party

  • Write internal/external training manuals, KB articles, FAQ’s and train computer users

  • Respond to tickets from customers seeking IT help

  • Consult with IT support and design departments to make sure that network expansion projects are in line with the company’s plans

What You Need


  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years information systems experience reflecting increasing levels of experience; OR  High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of information systems experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Math, Engineering or Business Administration plus 1 year of information systems experience

  • Required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary

  • Required to be on-call for remote or on-site after hours work

  • Experience administering Linux operating systems

  • Familiarity of the public cloud, AWS stack (CloudFormation, EC2, RDS, SQS, Route 53, S3)

  • Familiarity with automation and configuration management using Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, or Salt

  • Required to lift or move up to 75 pounds

What Will Set You Apart


  • Active Directory, VMware or other Infrastructure systems management

  • Experience managing NetApp storage management

  • Ansible or other automation tools experience

  • Software development experience with use of GIT

  • Service Now basics for ticket updating and managing is preferred but not required

  • Proven technical trouble shooting and diagnostic skills and reporting/updating management
