As the Customer Service Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive world-class service. You’ll also participate in order management activities, including entering orders, selecting routes, tendering loads to underlying intermodal carriers and managing dashboards. What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Communicate effectively with customers, shippers and consignees

  • Lead a team of CSAs who are responsible for systematic reconciliation/alignment to customer demand through inventory allocation

  • Achieve on-time performance goals for pick and delivery; meet email response time goals

  • Set appointments and process orders in a timely manner

  • Resolve problems by working across functions such as network, regional service center and other departments

  • Communicate accessorial and per diem charges to customers as soon as possible

  • Direct the work of the Customer Service Representatives and Senior Representatives, including assigning work, developing team members, evaluating performance, enforcing policies and procedures, and handling employee discipline

  • Coach, mentor and train staff to improve their transportation and customer service skills

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2 years of transportation, customer service or operations experience

It’d be great if you also have:


  • 5 years of experience

  • Experience with systematic reconciliation/alignment to customer demand through inventory allocation

  • Carrier management experience

  • SAP/Red Prairie experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience

  • Strong interpersonal and management skills; ability to work in a team environment and get along well with diverse personalities
