We are seeking a Senior Analyst to to provide multiple facility level financial and analytical support to our Building Products business and will be based in Atlanta, GA at our LEED® Certified, Downtown HQ. The selected individual will have the drive and skill set to handle the responsibilities listed below. This key role, allows for gaining knowledge and experience for advancement to positions of greater responsibility and technical ability throughout the company. The successful candidate must be self-directed, able to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated an understanding of financial analysis, financial controls and cost accounting, as well as data mining capability with finance and reporting tools such as Excel and Tableau. 

Georgia-Pacific’s building products business is North America's No. 1 producer of wood panels – namely plywood and oriented strand board – and is a leading producer of gypsum products and lumber. Georgia-Pacific is also a major supplier to large do-it-yourself warehouse retailers.

This role will create value by providing actionable facility level manufacturing analysis, regional cost analysis & benchmark analytics, as well as being an economic thought leader for the supporting facilities. This role will also serve as a key contributor to division financials and strategic decision making.


  • A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


    • Perform monthly reporting and analysis

    • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting

    • Provide analytical support for capital and major expense projects

    • Identifying key business trends through benchmarking, KPI tracking and financial analysis


    • Ownership of facility level planning and forecasting

    • Obtain a solid working knowledge of the primary drivers of operations and their impact on financial performance

    • Process Improvements - identify, solve, implement


    What You Will Need:


    Basic Qualifications:


    • Completed a Bachelor degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business

    • At least three years of Accounting and/or Financial Analysis experience

    • Able to work in the US without sponsorship

    • Ability to travel up to 30%, including overnight stays

    • Demonstrated understanding of key Cost Accounting concepts

    • Practical understanding of a general ledger, intercompany allocations, accruals, and month end closing

    • Aptitude and desire for learning new systems and improving processes through innovation and automation

    • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel – spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation etc., Access-query, and PowerPoint – presentation creation/editing)

    Preferred Qualifications:


    • Prior roles with significant ad hoc analysis requirements

    • Experience with Cost Analytics

    • Financial Modeling, NPV/IRR, ROI, and other investment valuation metrics

    • Experience with any/all of the following: variance analysis, balance sheet account analysis, benchmarking, KPI tracking, capital projects, budgeting, forecasting, planning, financial reporting

    • Experience in SAP, Excel macros and SQL/VBA, Tableau, Alteryx or other data visualization tools

    • Experience in a Manufacturing and/or Consumer Products environment
