Job Description Summary

Lonza is searching for a dynamic R&D Analytical Scientist for our Research & Development (R&D) department in our Portsmouth, NH facility.

Our Process Scientist’s primary responsibility is to maintain Lonza Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology as a leading contract manufacturer through the development and optimization of new cell culture and purification technologies.  This lab based role delivers technical solutions for the next generation processes that meet industry demands and maintain Lonza as the lead supplier.

Some of the responsibilities included for the R&D Analytical Scientist include:

  • Working closely with the cell culture and purification R&D teams; plans and executes several complex (non-routine) experimental programs simultaneously .

  • Generates experimental results and reviews respective scientific documentation.

  • Performs tasks for execution of routine and complex lab studies (ordering, reagent prep, protocol/report writing, intermediate data analysis, documentation review, customer consults, etc).

The successful candidate will need to have the following requirements in order to be a top contender for this role:

  • Strong communication, technical writing, organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong computer skills (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

  • Intermediate experience in aseptic technique and familiar with monoclonal antibody characterization assays (SEC-HPLC, SDS-PAGE, LC-MS a plus).

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
