Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies.
Perform clinical procedures under supervision of Provider or licensed nurse.
Perform the patient rooming process: interview patient and measure vital signs.
Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure:
Timely patient flow.
Rooms stocked with adequate supplies.
Maintain instruments.
Ensure all related reports and information are available in the Electronic Health Record.
Maintenance of all logs and required checks.
Provide instructions to patients as ordered/instructed by Provider.
Implement orders and treatment plan components as directed by Provider and licensed care team member(s).
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and timely; reflecting patients' plan of care.
Implement a teaching plan with patient, family and/or caregiver(s) as necessary.
Demonstrates continued development of clinical expertise, current knowledge of healthcare trends, and education related to clinical ambulatory practice.
Participate in processes that improve standards of care and practice in the delivery of ambulatory clinical care.
Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
Perform any additional or miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability.

Front Office Responsibilities:
Greet patients upon arrival and departure/checkout
Maintain knowledge of insurance requirements including patient financial obligations.
Accurately verify patient registration data. Verify insurance eligibility prior to patient visit, collect and receipt payments accurately; following through with all charges. Produce error-free batches which includes counting and balancing in agreement with EHR.
Scanning & faxing patient information using the two patient identifiers.
Demonstrate proficiency in computer management system.
Ensure patient areas are safe, clear and free from hazards.
Knowledge of computer scheduling functions, using proper registration protocols with all new patients, editing existing patient data and utilizing proper visit types.
Confirm and/or reschedule all appointments as directed. Reschedule any bumped appointments. Process: kept, cancelled, no show and rescheduled appointments per protocol.
Assist new patients with Patient Information Forms.
Ensure pre-arrival patient process is complete.
Monitor lobby for prolonged patient waiting by notifying appropriate party (patient/provider/nurse) when extended waiting time occurs. Communicate any and all delays to patients and offer alternatives when necessary. Notify management of patient issues.

Qualifications:
Experience:One (1) year medical office and clinical experience in an ambulatory care environment required
Education:High School graduate or equivalent required; Certificate from Accredited Medical Assistant Program required; Phlebotomy Certification preferred; BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
