POSITION SUMMARY:

A member of the management team. Facilitates Transport Services and EMS Liaison Coordinator responsibilities for Wesley Medical Center (WMC). Assumes primary responsibilities for the daily oversight and operations of WMC Type V Critical Care Transport Services. In addition, this position will act as a liaison and an advocate of the hospital with local, regional, and state Emergency Medical Service (EMS) agencies. This position will develop and implement a business plan, driving service line growth, and improving operations in terms of quality, processes, and is responsible for ensuring collaboration across all care settings within the facility as it relates to EMS. Functions within the RN job description. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are respectful to all.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED REGISTRATION, LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION

* Current Licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)

* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy Current Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) verification course within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy

* Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Exam within allotted time frame, as specified in policy

* Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy

* Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) verification course within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy

PREFERRED REGISTRATION, LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION

* Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

* Emergency Medical Technician Advanced (EMT-A)

* Mobile Intensive Care Technician (MICT)

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE

* Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

* Minimum of one year of Emergency and/or Trauma nursing experience

* Minimum of one year of Emergency and/or Trauma nursing experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing

* Pre-hospital Emergency Medical Services experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

* Basic computer skills

* Clinical knowledge appropriate to position
