Job Description:

This position will work in the ITS organization, working with IT technical staff and business users. The data architect is responsible to define the structure of each data store, to define the data structure convention (relational, normalized, etc.), develop and coordinate technical requirements, data and ETL, produce effective reports, visualizations, dashboards and conduct appropriate analyses. This person develops, manages and updates data models (physical & logical) and metadata definitions in appropriate domains: warehouse, marts, staging or operational stores and source systems. Key skills include strong relational and dimensional modeling, excellent analytic & communication skills. Knowledge of business domains required including manufacturing, sales, supply chain, marketing, financial, etc.

Key responsibilities and deliverables:



  • Working with internal business partners to establish detailed solutions and project plans using the latest technologies and methodologies.

  • Assist with creation of a robust, sustainable architecture that supports requirements and provides for expansion with secured access

  • Work with customers, end users, technical architects, and application designers to define the data requirements and data structure for Analytics solutions

  • Designs conceptual and logical models for the data warehouse or data mart (data structure, storage, and integration). Lead the database analysis, design, and build effort

  • Communicates physical database designs to lead data architect / database administrators

  • Evolves models to meet new and changing business requirements

  • Work with business analysts to identify and understand requirements and source data systems

  • Design maps of source system data to data warehouse models

  • Develop and test extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes

  • Define and capture metadata and rules associated with ETL/ELT processes

  • Ensure that the database designs fulfill the requirements, including data volume, frequency, and long termAnalytics growth requirements

  • Work with other architects to ensure that all components work together to meet objectives and performance goals as defined in the requirements

  • Participate in quality management reviews

with the following:


  • Understanding of both traditional and latest cloud based or hybrid BI Architecture

  • Experience working ERP systems and their newly released modules- preferably with INFOR

  • Grasp and ability to work with Knowledge/Metadata Management and/or virtualization tools

  • Experience with Master Data Management and Data Catalogues (preferrably with the Informatica Application Suite)

  • A solid grasp of different types of data (semistructured, unstructured, geospatial, graph etc.) and working with this variety in a clustered (Hadoop) environment

  • Experience working on data science heavy analytics projects (machine learning

  • Knowledge of Lean Principles.
