Overview We are seeking a RF Communications Engineer (mid -senior level) in Greenbelt, MD for an exciting and dynamic role supporting our NASA customer. The selected individual will join the Peraton team to represent the best of the best by supporting an exclusive NASA programs that integrates with state-of-the-art RF satellite communications systems and technologies. Assignments will include a variety of systems engineering tasks such as system performance analyses using modeling and simulation techniques to support on NASA Goddard RF group. This role will provide the employee the distinct opportunity to flourish in the most sought-after industries today.
Responsibilities What you'll do...
Develop system requirement and interface documentation for space missions.
Create system architectures and designs to support ground and space systems.
Perform communications technology assessments by ad-hoc studies.
A lot of flexibly, team supports RF communications for customer to include ad-hoc projects.
Implement daily RF communications analyses to include link budget assessments to determine link availability statistics based on factors such as orbit dynamics, orbit simulations, atmospherics, rain rates, and other link degradation factors.
Perform Dynamic link analyses, including body coordinates and antenna theory and patterns
Develop written documentation and make presentations to peers and our NASA customer to include analysis results based on ad-hoc studies and RF communication analysis.
Possibility to travel domestically and internationally to support customer, if necessary.
Qualifications You'd be a great fit if...
You have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related and at least 5+ years of verifiable direct related in RF design and communications experience.
Knowledgeable with at least 3+ years' experience in these areas to include:
RF wireless communications systems definition and analysis, including link analyses.
Experience with RF satellite communications systems parameters and their impact on RF link performance, including use of orbit simulations.
Use of simulation software such as STK, MATLAB, or any other COTS or custom simulation software.
Analytical and problem-solving techniques
Creating technical documents and delivering presentations
You are proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and working knowledge of latest Windows operating system.
You're a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance, should a security clearance be deemed necessary to perform the tasks associated with this position.

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Have a current active security clearance.
Familiarity with the NASA Space Network and Near Earth Network.
Understanding of RF communications and various modulation techniques.
You possess a strong sense of urgency, accountability and desire to excel
You are a great communicator - both oral and written
Excellent presentation skills which require frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.
Must be able to work independently and as well in groups.
