Job Summary:

The Project Engineer plays a key role on the Technical team in regards to capital project management and the Maintenance team. They will own the Project Management process for the site in order to identify, scope, plan and execute small and large minor capital projects. They will also be a key member of the Maintenance leadership team that will lead root cause analysis and assist in the management of the Reliability program.

 

Key Accountabilities:




Capital Projects:


  • Own the Project Management process for the site.

  • Manage the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closing of the project.

  • Participate in forecasting meetings for capital spend.

  • Engage all stakeholders effectively in the Project Management process.

  • Strive to use continuous improvement strategies to implement changes to the plant project management process.

  • Maintain engineering data for the site to include updating drawings and ensuring change control is followed.

  • Main point of contact for all capital projects for the site.

  • Create POs for equipment and contractor work.

  • Manage contractors on-site, to include issuing permits and ensuring adherence to plant rules.


 

Maintenance:


  • Rotating member of the technical team for after-hours support on technical issues.

  • Participate and lead root cause analysis on breakdowns within the technical team.

  • Back-up for the Technical Manager for Maintenance leadership.

  • Lead and/or participate in all technical team meetings.

  • Assist with maintenance forecasting meetings.

Key Technical Skills & Knowledge:


  • Ability to engage and work with vendors to complete projects.

  • Food safety, ISO, HACCP, food processing and materials conversion.

  • Organizational and time management skills.

  • Minimum of five (5) years managing mid to large capital projects.

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

Safety:


  • Follow all safety procedures.

  • Role model of safety execution.

 

Quality & Food Safety:


  • Utilizing knowledge of Q&FS systems.  The associate ensures Food Safety requirements are effectively performed.  This includes training of other associates on the Food Safety & Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), ensuring CCP monitoring is in effect and continuous improvement of the process with any changes to our working environment is practiced.
