  • As the Manager Environment, Health, & Safety, - Center of Excellence, (CoE), you will;

Be responsible for the development, documentation and delivery of programs and processes to the operational Environmental, Health and Safety global community to help drive standardization and ongoing improvement.

The Manager Environment, Health, & Safety - CoE will provide guidance and support to site management, program owners and site personnel across the Wine & Spirits Division to ensure compliance with Constellation Brands internal and regulatory requirements.

The Manager Environment, Health, & Safety - CoE must understand state and local requirements and be well versed in the research, review, selection and deployment of standard tools, systems and guidance. Depending on departmental needs, and the experience of the individual, the Manager Environment, Health, & Safety - CoE may be assigned a critical area of subject matter expertise over which they have accountability for strategic planning and standardized deployment across the Wine & Spirits network.

Most importantly, the Manager Environment, Health & Safety will understand the importance of teamwork and collaborate with other team members to ensure sustainable change.   

Responsibilities


  • Develop and deploy comprehensive EH&S Management System program and tools initiatives in consultation with the broader EHS community, that comply with regulatory requirements and promote employee participation and accountability.

  • Participate and conduct EH&S Gap Assessments across Constellation locations.

  • Leads in-depth business analysis for EH&S to reduce risks and leads audits to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations.

  • Analyze, design, develop, and conduct appropriate training programs to assist management with environmental, health and safety responsibilities

  • Review and analyze accident data to identify trends or areas requiring additional focus

  • Serve as a technical resource to the company in complex areas of EHS compliance, risk management, hazardous materials/waste, biosafety, industrial safety, and/or ergonomics

  • Communicate and provides expertise to Engineering, Procurement and Operation Technical Services teams on EHS considerations for equipment selection, construction techniques, building design, new product development, third party contract manufacturing and other project work.

  • Research, and recommend emerging technology and tools focused on simplifying and standardizing the execution of EHS.

  • Instrumental in influencing and communicating critical regulation changes and improvements to EH&S programs with senior leadership.

  • Instrumental in communicating EH&S industry best practice solutions to production facilities and EH&S staff.

  • Responsible for participating with other team members in implementing initiatives across multiple EH&S disciplines to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Responsible for helping develop and implement programs to reduce EH&S risks.

  • Regularly liaises with Subject Matter Experts in other business divisions, (Beer, Craft, Corporate), to ensure solutions, materials, and guidance developed within the Center of Excellence are universal and representative of existing EHS business processes and needs.

  • Develop solutions and guidance applying advanced level knowledge/expertise of best practices within multiple technical, professional, scientific, and applied disciplines and makes recommendations and presentations based on accepted scientific methodology.

  • Communicates and advise EHS management, and other appropriate personnel of EHS information, regulations and community concerns.

  • Develop proactive plans to address new regulations and EHS initiatives.

  • Execute other activities, projects and initiatives as directed.

Preferred/Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field

  • Minimum (5) years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) field

  • Experience in EHS management systems

  • Strong knowledge of environmental rules and regulations with a working knowledge of OSHA Regulations.

  • Experience with permitting and providing reports to regulatory agencies (CAA, CWA, CERCLA, RCRA)

  • Ability to develop and meet deadlines and budgets

  • Effective leadership and personnel management skills

  • Ability to develop and implement procedures and programs

  • Demonstrated proficiency in IT based skills including word processing, spreadsheet applications, database management and electronic communication methods
