Job Description:

Skilled Maintenance Laborer wanted to enhance our current Maintenance team working at our multiple locations across Connecticut.   In this role you would be part of a team that handles all facilites maintenance, repairs and upkeep at these locations.  This would include ensuring that the buidings meet all building, fire, ADA and health codes as well as contract set standards.  Your work schedule will be Mon-Fri 8am-4pm with flexiblity required.  Starting wage range $17.00-$18.00.

Since CSI’s founding in 1962, it has been a pioneer in the community-based service. We have been delivering supervision, treatment, and comprehensive individualized services to help clients interact more effectively in their communities and become productive citizens. Using this plan we built the first ever halfway house in New England which has now been replicated and grown to almost 50 programs in 9 states.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS includes but are not limited too:

  • Perform on-going maintenance repairs, cleanup, and routine building repairs.

  • Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.

  • Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls, painting etc.

  • Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues

  • Install appliances and equipment

  • Perform garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.

  • Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs

  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems

  • Check functionality of safety systems

  • Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations

  • Train under facility staff in areas of electrical repairs, carpentry work, plastering, roof work, plumbing and occasional masonry work.

  • Ensure that an adequate supply of maintenance materials and house supplies are on hand at all times.

  • Assist supervisor with conducting weekly inspections Agency buildings and report major problems or deficiencies to the supervisor, or Program Director as appropriate.

  • High school or trade school diploma or equivalent

  • One year relevant maintenance working experience

  • Must have adequate transportation to obtain supplies to service all properties.

  • A valid driver’s license is required.
