Job Description:

SUMMARY:

The Director of Finance, HispAm, is the region’s Business Controller, performing and/or facilitating not only comprehensive business and financial analyses for data- and context-driven recommendations to the management team but also decision making across the Company’s Spanish-speaking markets (“HispAm”).
The incumbent drives the HispAm region’s governance related to managing deal assessments, executing the commercial review process, internal approvals, and following up on plans and actions related to customer proposals and deals, pricing, cost/expense management, contracts drafting, new products/services initiatives, investment decisions, capital allocation, and return on assets, ensuring consistency of methodology and assumptions used in the evaluation of business strategies and opportunities.
The incumbent works in a matrix organization, collaborating with the Corporate office, international markets, regional and local leadership teams, primarily with members of the Sales, Innovation/New Products, Operations, and Legal departments, which requires keeping current on business developments that impact the markets’ financial and operational performance, with special emphasis on opportunities and risks.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


• Oversee the decision-making processes in all the Company’s HispAm markets, ensuring common practices and procedures are used in their evaluation.
• Proactively conduct and/or facilitate business analyses; create, adapt, and review financial and sensitivity models alongside market inputs delivered to various business partners to help them make timely and accurate decisions.
• Assist with preparing and presenting deal approval requests, maintain deal approval records up-to-date and relevant to subsequent contract drafting, future deal assessments, and deal look-backs.
• Help implement, monitor, and adjust pricing strategies and decisions for all HispAm markets.
• Assist regional and local Innovation teams’ developments, in particular in the area of fiber.
• Identify and keep current on risks and opportunities, collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team so they are adequately incorporated in budgets and forecasts for all HispAm markets.
• Provide guidance and coaching to employees involved in decision making activities, actively working to promote awareness of financial impacts to the Company.
• Assist with weekly reviews with, and creates weekly reports for, all HispAm markets, ensuring follow-up of any agreed upon actions.
• Develop and manage business partnerships across multiple departments; maintain close interaction, especially with regional Sales Vice Presidents and local Sales teams, so that customer updates, best practices, and priorities are properly and mutually shared, expectations are agreed upon, and holistic win-win value added propositions are created.
• Collaborate with the Mergers and Acquisition team.
• Work on various ad hoc and/or short assignments to cover open related positions or tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

•  Strong verbal and written communications skills.

•  Proficient with Microsoft Office with very strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
•  Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
•  Working knowledge of Information Systems, forecasting, financial reports, data collection, data analysis, and evaluation.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


•  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
•  MBA preferred.
•  Between 6–8 years of Finance or related experience and/or training required.
•  In-depth experience with financial modeling results and projections of decisions, required.
•  Experience with and knowledge of U.S. GAAP as it relates to revenue recognition, preferred.


ENVIRONMENT:


100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.  Up to approximately 20% travel will be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
