As a Data Quality Engineer/Developer, you will be responsible for helping to improve the data quality processes, monitoring, and overall reporting for the Data Warehouse.  This role will be part architect, part developer, and part analyst.   The ideal candidate will come from a quality and development background with a stronger emphasis on development.  You will be part of a small team tasked with improving the overall quality of the Data we provide. 

Understanding of data quality dimensions, how to measure those dimensions is desired along with an understanding of Data Science and some of the various toolsets available to capture the metrics for the dimensions.  Understanding of GIT and DevOps is desired as well to help maintain accountability of the code and help us move to more CI/CD processing.

Additionally, this role requires strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and outstanding customer service skills. 

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelors or master’s in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field

  • 2+ years or Data Quality Related work.

  • 2+ years of SSIS development (including C#)

  • 2+ years of Microsoft Database Development / Business Intelligence experience

  • Working Knowledge and /or experience with PowerBI.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Lake Storage.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the Data Quality Dimensions.

  • Data Warehousing Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, Redshift, Teradata, etc.

  • Experience in using C#, PowerShell, and/or other data engineering languages.

  • Experience with SSIS, ADF, or other ETL tools is desired.

  • Knowledge and experience with SQL, T-SQL, or PLSQL.

  • Excellent communication, analytical and collaborative problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Customer support experience.

  • Experience with GIT repositories, TFS, or VSTS.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with NoSQL databases like Hadoop or Cosmos DB is a plus.

  • Experience with Automation and CI/CD.

  • Understanding of DevOps

  • Experience with R

  • Demonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in an agile environment

  • Experience with custom application development using .NET, Java, JavaScript and/or related technologies and frameworks

  • Microsoft Azure Certification

  • Performance tuning within SQL Server and Oracle databases.

  • Knowledge of DAX.

  • Working knowledge and/or understanding of Azure-based tools and services that support analysis, mining and reporting, e.g. Analysis Services (PaaS), Azure SQL Data Warehouse, HDInsight, Data Lake Analytics, Stream Analytics, Cognitive Services, Spark etc.
