Sets day-to-day objectives to deliver job responsibilities working within guidelines or norms or practices.  Work consists of tasks that are typically routine, with moderate supervision and may seek advice of more senior associates.


Problems and issues faced are routine, but solutions are  not frequently  clear.  Checks and makes minor adjustments to work methods to solve problems that are routine and typically exist in current work processes and systems.  May be required to report concerns/problems to supervisors  and recommend solutions.


  • Counts money to verify amounts and issues receipts for funds received using a cash register.

  • Provides a high level of customer service support with product expertise and advanced selling skills.

  • Uses experience and knowledge to build customer relationships and drive sales.

  • Provides assistance to customers both in the store and via phone including, but not limited to, price verifications, exchanges and returns, and special orders.

  • Maintains appearance of store and/or restock merchandise.

  • Administers customers returns.

  • Represents the organization to customers, associates, vendors and leadership as needed.

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations and procedures.

  • Participates in associate meetings and communicates any concerns to management.


  • Adhering to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.

  • Performing other duties or functions as requested by management.



Has no direct or indirect responsibility for supervision of other associates.  Supports enterprise business and sales objectives through the effective and efficient performance of job responsibilities.


Has no budget setting or budgetary authority but may act as part of a team with responsibility for achieving  objectives within an established budget.



Two (2) years of experience is preferred.  Applies broader job knowledge of established processes and procedures that are relevant to own job.


Associate is expected to operate at the proficient level across the following areas of technical knowledge and skill:

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally.

  • Ability to efficiently operate computers, tablets and mobile devices.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).

  • Ability to effectively utilize FEI's inventory and logistics system (Trilogie).

  • Ability to effectively utilize FEI's customer relationship management system.

  • Ability to effectively operate motorized and/or manual lifting devices.

  • Ability to effectively operate a cash register, credit card system and/or bar code scanner.

  • Certified forklift operator.

  • Certified in OSHA safety procedures.


  • Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

  • Requires giving and/or receiving verbal communication.

  • Requires giving and/or receiving written communication.

  • Requires standing for extended periods.

  • Requires walking.

  • Requires walking, bending, and/or squatting.

  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.

  • Regularly requires carrying objects that are 50 lbs or more by hand.

  • Regularly requires carrying objects that are 50 lbs or more using equipment.

exemption status:

Role is classified as Non-Exempt and will receive compensation for hours worked in excess of relevant State and Federal standards.

Work hours:

Under normal circumstances it is expected that the core duties and responsibilities can be completed in scheduled workweek by a fully qualified associate.  Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory including arriving at the time scheduled by your supervisor daily.
