Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES) is looking for a Scheduling Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will be a primary point of contact for KAES project and turnaround scheduling tools, practices and application. This position will leverage well-rounded knowledge of project processes and project controls practices including planning, scheduling, risk/change management and performance measurement. The scheduling SME will be a key member of a cross site, cross functional team that has an opportunity to create significant value with the organization and would be instrumental in accelerating the improvements and innovation to our Project Controls systems and internal knowledge by providing dedicated support to develop and analyze schedules from conceptual phase through construction execution and project close-outs.
Wichita, KS is the preferred location. Candidates residing in or near Minneapolis, Des Moines, Kansas City, Omaha-Lincoln, Tulsa and Oklahoma City will also be considered.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Manage all aspects of project scheduling to ensure competent, efficient and timely execution of project or turnaround activities in accordance with project objectives
Collaborate across the sites to develop and implement an innovative shared strategy for building a sustainable scheduling capability inclusive of people, tools, processes and data integration
Develop, implement and maintain sustainable scheduling guidelines, standards, templates, tools and procedures for Projects and Turnarounds using Koch and industry best practices for industrial process facilities
Provision, administer and provide oversight of P6 and MS Project scheduling tools and applications
Support the execution of projects to build automated data integration scheduling tools and other KAES systems
Develop and implement a consistent schedule reporting framework across the sites and build capability for stakeholders to utilize the reports to influence project results
Develop and deliver schedule training for various stakeholders tailored to their role
Set expectations, provide guidance and oversight for 3rd party schedulers
Review and validate that schedules are aligned with project plans, represent the complete scope of work, include assumptions and clarifications to support contingency development
Analyze schedules quality and provide recommendations to address quality issues
Analyze schedule progress reports to identify trends, deviations and variances from baselines
Collaborate with Planners to ensure alignment of practices with capital and daily maintenance work
What You Will Need:
Minimum of 5 years experience in project and/or turnaround scheduling
Experience applying Primavera P6 and MS Project scheduling tools to positively influence project results
Experience developing, implementing and improving project scheduling methodology and strategies
Scheduling experience on projects and/or turnaround scheduling in an industrial and/or construction environment
Experience working with EPCs to leverage their resources, processes and tools for scheduling
Experience developing and utilizing schedule metrics to analyze and influence project outcomes
Exposure to Schedule Risk Analysis and identifying key issues and risks
Able to travel up to 40% to other KAES sites, engineering contractors / partners, etc.
What Will Put You Ahead?
Minimum of 10+ years' experience in project and/or turnaround scheduling
B.S. in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or related field
Experience integrating data between scheduling tools and other systems
Experience implementing new scheduling environment in P6 or MS Project Web App
Experience applying Schedule Quality Management and assessments to influence project outcomes
Ability to attend job-walks which could include climbing stairs, scaffold stair cases and vertical ladders
