Job Overview:

This position will be responsible for the CAD department, including production, quality, allocation of resources, and staffing. The successful candidate will exhibit the ability to manage a large team in a fast paced, team environment, while maintaining a high standard of precision and accuracy. Creative problem solving, effective communication, and strong interpersonal skills are a must.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Ensure CAD templates are up to date and consistent throughout the company.

  • Ensure that the drafting templates are being properly utilized for specific regions and projects.

  • Continuously review and fine tune CAD QA/QC process.

  • Communicate regularly with Project Managers and other team leaders regarding upcoming work and prospective project planning.

  • Interact with CAD leads to maintain production and meet project deadlines.

  • Create and Implement Training Programs for consistent early staff development.

  • Monitor and complete periodic performance reviews for the drafting staff.

  • Plan Team Collaboration Events for different offices/regions.

  • Support integration of drafting departments across the company.

  • Monitor workflow requests in SiteTracker and production of the department to ensure an even spread of work throughout the entire drafting department.

  • Utilize SiteTracker data and the Operations Director to guide hiring and staff adjustment decisions.

  • Collaborate with IT to improve document and stamp security.

  • Travel to other Advantage offices.


  • Formal AutoCAD training with a minimum 10 years working knowledge of Autodesk products in a production role required.

  • BS Degree in a Technical/Science discipline with at least 4 years of previous management experience in a production engineering environment.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills required.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high quality service to internal customers.

  • Basic knowledge of civil, electrical, mechanical and structural disciplines preferred.
