RMC is hiring a Sr. Technical Writer to support one of our customers in Riverside, CA. The selected applicant will:
Provide technical support in hardware and software design analysis, development, integration and implementation.
Provide editorial support and quality assurance for technical data from a variety of technical resources
Communicate with DHS engineers, scientists and radar technical experts to articulate complex concepts; conveys complex information into clear, concise text for technical specifications
Prepare correspondence, special reports, whitepapers, and other artifacts, using information supplied by knowledgeable staff members, personal knowledge, and available background material
Work independently or in a group setting, be proficient in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and document proofreading
Have technical editing experience supporting DHS, DoD and/or military technical and reference documents
Have experience supporting strict deadlines delivering accurate documentation under compressed timelines
Occasionally provide support during non-standard work hours, including evenings and weekends
Research and analyze technical data from a variety of technical resources
Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to create user documentation for a variety of material, including how-to guides and instruction manuals
Use a variety of software programs to create and edit text documents, charts and graphs, and incorporate diagrams and images into documents
Ensure applicable policies have been adhered to and that documents meet all applicable standards prior to release
A bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical, writing, or related English language discipline and four or more (4+) years of technical writing, editing, and publishing experience is preferred. Three or more (3+) years of 508 compliance is also desired.
