Job Description:

McKesson is seeking a dynamic and engaging leader for the role of Outbound Operations Manager in our newly built distribution center (DC) located in the Lehigh Valley (LHV) region of Pennsylvania.

The LHV DC is the newest and largest DC in the McKesson Medical-Surgical network, boasting a footprint of 508,000 sq. ft. with future capacity to expand to 600,000 sq. ft. Our warehouse team will consist of 250+ team members to support the business.  If you are passionate about inspiring, motivating and developing team members, this leadership opportunity could further enhance your career journey and we want to hear from you.  From day one, you will be able to create a positive dynamic culture for your department and the entire DC, that reinforces our McKesson values. Initial travel throughout the network to other high volume DCs will be required to increase your knowledge as we plan for the LHV DC go live.

This metroplex is located 1 hour north of Philadelphia and 1.5 hours to both the New Jersey shore and New York City.  The area has a balanced and diversified economy across unique settings, from rural to urban environments and everything in between. Key Responsibilities

  • 10 plus years in a distribution and/or operations environment

  • Lead large teams over multiple shifts, in a 24/7 operations

  • Automation and management system background

  • Experience with performance metric and process improvement

  • Strong financial and data acumen; ability to analyze and utilize to drive results.

  • Create employee engagement while building working relationships internally and externally.

  • Manage, train, and develop supervisors and associates through coaching, mentoring, and effective communication

  • Ability to highly motivate others and create a positive, enthusiastic, organized, and clean work environment with the utmost dedication to our team and customers.

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, interpersonal and organization skills with the ability to handle changing priorities and use of good judgement through stressful situations

  • Leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives that improve customer care, reduces cost, improves service, capacity and productivity.  

Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of how all departments within a distribution center function and their interdependencies

  • Experience with automation and workflow management systems (JD Edwards)

  • Passion and commitment to continuous improvement with demonstrated success in leading and influencing team members

  • Must be a positive change leader with strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to see the “big picture”

  • Experience with Labor Management System

  • Advanced computer skills including typical office suite programs

  • Strong verbal and written communication, including presentation skills


4-year degree or related field or equivalent experience

 Minimum Requirements
10+ years operational and managerial experience

General Office Demands

Position includes standing, sitting, walking in a warehouse environment

Must be able to carry and operate a laptop

Must be willing to work various hours in a 24/7 operational warehouse

Management Level: M3
