Lead Phlebotomist performs all the duties of a phlebotomist plus: coordinates the day-to-day and shift-to-shift activities of the phlebotomy team at all inpatient and outpatient locations. Duties include scheduling, filling gaps in schedules as needed on short notice due to inadequate staffing, serving as the resource for questions, problem resolution, and as the resource for difficult collections, education, etc. Will serve as liaison between staff, patients, providers, and other clinicians. Reports to laboratory leadership, but may provide input into team selection, participating in interviews, monitoring performance, etc.
