HR Business Partner

Cognizant seeks an experienced Human Resources Executive to be the strategic business partner to senior leadership, and help drive the business forward. This leader will ensure that all people process functions (Global Workforce Management, Talent Acquisition, Cognizant Academy, Talent Management & Immigration) work together so that the business can achieve its strategic objectives. This executive will also provide a central holistic view of all people initiatives and act as the single point-of-contact to the BU leader for all people issues.

The HR Partner is responsible for directing all of the people functions for the organization within Cognizant Technology Solutions. U will be responsible for setting and driving the Global People strategy as resolved in partnership by the Executive Leadership Team.

The position can be based anywhere in the North America and will be required to travel as needed to serve the business.

  • Own the human resources functions and provide holistic view for enabling decision-making on all people related issues, including:

  • Provide BU leadership teams with data and analytics to effectively lead the workforce.





  • Ensure alignment between organizational & strategic objectives.





  • Effectively drive people goals & maintain the small company culture.





  • Build, create and implement an impactful Global People Strategy for the Organization





  • This plan would include but not be limited to;





  • Short and long term programs/strategies aimed at attraction, engagement, development and retention of associates.





  • Focus on reducing attrition at key levels within the organization





  • Building a strong Employee Value Proposition





  • Design and oversight of the Global Career Architecture program





  • Driving diversity initiatives throughout the organization





  • Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic operational plans.





  • In partnership with Recruitment teams, develop staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the corporation for key positions. Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the company.





  • Develop a global progressive and enthusiastic compensation and benefits model benchmarked against the Consulting industry





  • Create a robust cadence of talent planning and reviews to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps. Areas of activity will include talent management through proper organizational planning programs for key contributor and leadership positions, training and development programs for preparing employees for more significant responsibilities and general business development programs to enhance employee knowledge and understanding of the business of the company and the software industry.





  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.





  • Establish credibility throughout the organization with Practice Leaders, Global Centers of Perfection and HR Leadership Teams.





  • Continue improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization.





  • Continually seek improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) for individuals.




Qualifications and Competencies:



  • 10+ years in a Business HR Partner Role





  • Strong Eye For Business





  • Recognized as an SME in Human Resources





  • BA or BS degree in related field required





  • Has successfully driven strategic global initiatives for a business





  • Highly strategic with ability to be hands on





  • Poised and professional/Possesses Gravitas





  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills





  • Excellent presentation skills





  • Operates well in a highly matrixed environment





  • Ability to handle multiple key partners globally





  • Has partnered with a C level executives to deliver a best-in-class HR strategy and experience leading human resources function for large, multinational information technology or IT Outsourcing organization.




  • Ability to operate and deliver independently without oversight is critical.
