What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Perform temporary labor hour analysis each month and provide reports to site leadership to evaluate appropriateness of monthly expense; make adjustments as necessary

  • Address questions from leadership and site-level management and resolve any uncertainties regarding expense

  • Assist with internal and external audit requests and perform any SOX-related controls

  • Perform/oversee temporary labor invoice reconciliations for key vendors

  • Validate the monthly accrual for temporary labor and reconcile to the general ledger

  • Prepare headcount summaries of actuals and ensure information is posted into business intelligence (BI) system as needed

  • Apply an analytical approach to support strategic decisions, new product/system introductions and other data-driven analysis

  • Work independently across functions, including local/corporate HR, Contingent Labor team, Operations, etc., to manage complex projects and serve as the subject matter expert

  • Assist with the implementation of the new Vendor Management System for temporary and contract employees

  • Focus on automation and the creation of self-help reporting for nonfinance users, including expense analysis, budgeting and forecasting for temporary labor expense and hours

  • Understand and transition transaction tasks and analysis to the team in Mumbai, to build a 24-hour finance team to meet the global and growing needs of our business; serve as the main point of contact for questions

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field

  • 3 or more years of experience in a financial role

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle), HFM, Microsoft BI and related technologies

  • Experience with large databases with the ability to utilize data from various BI systems

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access)

It’d be great if you also have:

  • MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA or applicable professional designation

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma management concepts and/or certifications

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines

  • Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
