What you’ll do on a typical day:
Perform temporary labor hour analysis each month and provide reports to site leadership to evaluate appropriateness of monthly expense; make adjustments as necessary
Address questions from leadership and site-level management and resolve any uncertainties regarding expense
Assist with internal and external audit requests and perform any SOX-related controls
Perform/oversee temporary labor invoice reconciliations for key vendors
Validate the monthly accrual for temporary labor and reconcile to the general ledger
Prepare headcount summaries of actuals and ensure information is posted into business intelligence (BI) system as needed
Apply an analytical approach to support strategic decisions, new product/system introductions and other data-driven analysis
Work independently across functions, including local/corporate HR, Contingent Labor team, Operations, etc., to manage complex projects and serve as the subject matter expert
Assist with the implementation of the new Vendor Management System for temporary and contract employees
Focus on automation and the creation of self-help reporting for nonfinance users, including expense analysis, budgeting and forecasting for temporary labor expense and hours
Understand and transition transaction tasks and analysis to the team in Mumbai, to build a 24-hour finance team to meet the global and growing needs of our business; serve as the main point of contact for questions
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle), HFM, Microsoft BI and related technologies
Experience with large databases with the ability to utilize data from various BI systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access)
It’d be great if you also have:
MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA or applicable professional designation
Experience with Lean/Six Sigma management concepts and/or certifications
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines
Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
