A. TITLE: Underwriting
Assistant.

 

B.
KEY OBJECTIVE
:
Primarily provide underwriting services support to the Middle Market Package (MMP) Underwriting
unit.

 

C.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
: Duties may include are not limited to:

a.    
Support
and coordinate account processing and servicing on new business and renewal
policies (including policy issuance, endorsements, registration, and
cancellations) at the direction of underwriting.   

b.    
Identify
forms and endorsements used in policy construction.

c.    
Handle
general correspondences and notifications.

d.    
Maintain
service standards and display a sense of urgency by timely response to broker
requests and timely receipt of underwriting information.

e.    
Communicate
with customers to confirm or obtain needed policy information.  

f.     
Conduct
account inquiries in various management systems.

g.    
Handle
special projects as assigned.

 

D.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

a.    
High
school diploma or equivalent.

b.    
2-3
years of insurance experience.

c.    
Strong
data entry and computer skills.

 

E.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

a.    
Bachelor’s
degree, with preference to insurance, business or related fields.

b.    
2 to 3 years of prior commercial insurance
underwriting support experience.

c.    
Strong understanding of insurance
terminology.

d.    
Good
verbal and written communication skills.

e.    
Ability
to work autonomously and manage multiple deadlines.

f.     
Strong
organization, prioritization and multitasking skills.

g.    
Good
attention to detail.
