Core Responsibilities:

  • Achieve the assigned budget for the Valve Product (Butterfly, Ball, Triple Offset Valves (Vanessa), GGC, or Knife Gate Valves) and multi region projects in the product area of expertise

  • Conduct Sales and Customer Thought Leadership Learning & product training

  • Conduct joint sales calls with Channel.

  • Support inside sales and application engineers and assist in their training

  • Support RSM on territory strategy for products

  • Responsible for product line bookings numbers (tied to RSM and Channel)

  • Develop annual Product plans for Products assigned within the assigned geographic region

  • Update all Product plans each quarter based on specific actions identified per quarterly plan

  • Manage Product pricing strategies and pricing agreements within our geography

  • Drive AML & technical specification work

  • Serve as application mentor to the customer, Channel and inside sales and application engineering

  • Responsible for Demand creation with the Channel

  • Lead product trouble shooting when required to support customer and Channel

  • Owner of technical specification writing for product

  • Support product literature creation

  • Identify the Products total potential for Emerson and update annually

  • Utilize Dynamics CRM to track all projects (Key & Regional Account and Large vertical projects)

  • Monthly update all projects using the “Must Win” function in the CRM

  • Responsible for providing annual feedback to Business Units on competitors and market dynamics


  • Requires 50% to 60% travel with end users and channel

  • Have thorough knowledge of the Product they represent with customers, applications, terminology, purchasing practices and large project pursuit methodology

  • Ability to develop account plans and project pursuit strategies with minimal guidance from management.

  • Strong presentation preparation and delivery skills

  • Demonstrate customer focus by meeting and exceeding customer expectations

  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills are critical for this position due to the various interfaces internal and external to the organization

  • Maintain the proper focus and be persistent to introduce new products and services to our customers expanding our portfolio to unseat competitive offering
