The Data Visualization designer role is responsible for helping the analysts and data scientists on the Solve(d) team, and other teams in the wider agency, tell stories with data that are engaging, understandable and intriguing. This designer believes that good design and truthful and clear data visualizations have a large impact on how people perceive information.
The designer will directly report to the Senior Data Visualization designer at Solve(d) and will be joining a team of data analysts and data scientists. In the wider FCB Health agency, the designer may also work with art directors, creative directors, copy writers, branding designers, medical strategists, and account managers.
Design dashboards (and update monthly, or quarterly) Output: PDFs, created in illustrator
Help the team communicate PowerPoint presentations effectively
Create maps for geographical data
Work on clinical study data efficacy, study design, side effects, dosing, etc..
Explore data science projects and help determine key takeaways and story flow for client presentation decks
Create infographics and information designs
Bachelors Degree in a design-related field graphic design, journalism, marketing and advertising, etc..
1-2 years of experience working on data visualizations, infographics, information design
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator ( specifically chart making/importing data into the program)
Experience with Adobe InDesign
Experience with PowerPoint
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Exceptional critical thinking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative working environment
Strong verbal and written communications
Ability to present complex concepts to cross-capability team members clearly and effectively
Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI
Health/ pharmaceutical knowledge/ experience
Portfolio with examples of infographics, data visualizations, charts, information design pieces etc..
