We are looking for a full time Chief Inspector in Lafayette Operations facility in the Arconic Aluminum Extrusions (AEX) business unit, based in Lafayette, Indiana. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.

This role is responsible for the inspection process in our Aluminum Extrusion department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee the in-process, final inspection and source inspection activities in the extrusion department.
Verify product quality in accordance with appropriate quality plans.
Provide inspection support on all three shifts.
Effective training, performance monitoring, coaching, and support.
Communicate quality issues (DMR, customer complaints, RMA's, etc) to Production to improve product quality, identifying opportunities for improved performance, and leading the activities that will result in positive change.
Work with Planning to review quality concern in correlation with shipments
Maintain First Article log and documentation.
Update procedures and work instructions.
Provide Inspection technique/system training of all Inspection Categories.
Provide back-up support to other Source Inspector(s).
Coordinate appropriate customer source inspection activities, including customer visits to Lafayette Operations to source inspect their products prior to shipment.
Conduct physical inspection of customer material to meet customer requirements
Audit customer related lot tickets to assure that all required operations have been performed in accordance with customer requirements.
Review and compare customer related sales documents and prints with material certifications to ensure consistency and compliance.
Coordinate special customer requirements or requirement changes through Arconic sales and/or customer representatives.
Act as a liaison with others, such as production, metallurgical, and other appropriate personnel on inspection issues.
Coordinate and oversee outside processing activities.
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial environment
