Shift : 1 

Start Time :  7:00am 

End Time :  4:00pm 

Schedule Days : Monday - Friday 

Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) 



Job Summary:


Duties may include:  Maintain records pertinent to the accounts payable function.  Support other Accounting functions as assigned.  Gradually acquire knowledge of other accounting clerk's duties and responsibilities.




Essential Functions:



  1. Perform personal computer data entry for various department areas.

  2. Distribute invoices and credit memos as directed.

  3. Batch payable invoices.   

  4. Audit Accounts Payable batches.

  5. Enter accounts payable information into the computer system.

  6. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.



Additional Responsibilities:



  1. Update vendor master file.

  2. Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

  3. Work within and promote corporate values.



Additional Level Requirements



  • Accounting Clerk II - Must have knowledge of and intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and accounting software. Prior Empire accounting experience. Some college level accounting courses and/or equivalent accounts receivable, accounts payable, or accounting experience.  Able to analyze data or processes, work independently, make sound evaluations and judgements.  Able to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.

  • Accounting Clerk III - Minimum 3 years MS Office software/Computer experience. Minimum of 3 years Accounting experience.




Knowledge Skills and Abilities:



  1. Must have data entry or personal computer skills or experience

  2. Must be able to use a calculator by touch.

  3. Ability to type quickly and accurately.

  4. Must have interpersonal skills to work with people in a relaxed, professional manner.

  5. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.



Education and Experience:



  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  2. Some Accounting knowledge and/or experience equivalent to High School business accounting.

  3. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
