Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

  • Directs the daily operation, maintenance, and enhancement of three (3) LNG facilities and three (3) LP Air Facilities located in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
  • Provides strategic direction for Avangrid in all LNG/LP Air matters while coordinating with the Directors of Operations and Gas Supply.
  • Ensures code compliance, safety, and reliability of all Avangrid LNG/LP-Air Facilities.
  • Represents LNG/LP AIr before regulatory authorities as appropriate.
  • Directly responsible for LNG/LP Air Managers and LNG/LP Air Professionals.
  • Responsible for standardization and integration of LNG/LP Air Plants maintenance and operations.


MAJOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Scope of work - range of responsibilities:

  • Applies business and management expertise to achieve financial, production, safety, and operational objectives related to LNG/LP Air for Connecticut and Massachusetts.
  • Utilizes extensive knowledge from education, industry, department and other operational areas within the OPCOs to achieve favorable outcomes for the corporation related to LNG/LP Air and other corporate initiatives.
  • Directs the resolution of complex technical, operational and organization problems within LNG/LP Air and other operational areas of interaction.
  • Develops relationships with key customers, regulators, industry groups, professional organizations, and local officials to identify emergency needs and implement solutions related to LNG/LP Air and other functional areas.
  • Accountable for operational and financial performance for regulated (CNG/SCG/BGC) and non-regulated (TPS) organizations involving multiple cost centers, functional areas, and capital project areas.
  • Develops business plans and organization structures for LNG/LP Air areas with planning horizons ranging up to 10 years.
  • Participates in Project Management Group and LNG Steering Committee meetings representing LNG Plants on larger scale capital projects.
  • Prioritizes LNG/LP Air short and long term operating, safety, security, maintenance, construction, regulatory, and financial objectives based upon available resources & code requirements in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
  • Responsible for timely submission of reports for and successful inspections by Federal and State agencies (FERC, DEP, PHMSA, DPU, PURA).
  • Participates in regulatory and industry proceedings representing the interests of the company related to LNG/LP Air and other matters.
  • Identifies and exploits opportunities to: reduce operating costs, improve productivity, enhance operations, and achieve financial objectives at the LNG/LP Air plants with a focus on safety and standardization.
  • Accountable for decisions related to capital investments and operational expenses at the LNG/LP Air facilities.
  • Represents LNG/LP Air in completing corporate objectives by working with peers and leadership throughout the organization.
  • Develops and recommends plans for implementation and administration of strategic projects. Oversees and coordinates approved projects, commandeering personnel required to successfully complete assignment.
  • Formulate strategies, plans, policies and procedures based on operational analysis to maximize current operations or to plan for large-scale operational changes.
  • Participates on NGA LNG Steering committee and conducts trainings for fire departments on LNG/LP Air Product and emergency response (trucking and facilities).
  • Monitors LNG/LP industries for trends and enhancements that may benefit the organization.
  • Provides direct management of LNG/LP Air Managers and Professionals at CNG, SCG, and BGC to achieve division, department, and corporate objectives related to LNG/LP Air operational area.
  • Fulfills responsibilities of LNG/LP Air Plant Manager(s) as required while having direct responsibility for the daily operations and maintenance of one of the three (3) LNG plants.

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, or other technical Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10 years in technical field preferably in the LNG industry. Experience with LP Air systems also preferred. Strong Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of complex processes, gas measurement and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrates Leadership qualities. Able to maintain procedures and principles that are of high ethical standard. Must have knowledge of relevant LNG codes including but not limited to 49 CFR 193, NFPA 59A, NEC.
