Role Summary

The Regional Materials Manager utilizes strong locomotive knowledge and product expertise to ensure the availability of parts are readily available during the service of the Locomotive for BNSF Kansas City, Tulsa, OK, and the 3rd party vendor. Leading a team, this role will develop the strategy to ensure processes are in place to minimize LHFM/NIS events, ensure successful execution of transactions, producing, assembling and delivering replacement/ repair parts and equipment as part of a Services agreement for expanding sites.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 9+ materials staff in Kansas City, Tulsa, OK, and the 3rd party facility
  • Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including; site services, implementing necessary upgrades, and meeting annual budgets.
  • Develop capacity planning models to support SI / SII operation plan for site
  • Drive materials management strategy and implementation to achieve inventory turns,and quality targets
  • Develop an integrated material schedule blending forecasted and customer requirements for site and communicate to account planner & Material Leader.
  • Driving the completion and implementation of improvement modifications thru the shop while working with local teams.
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a shop operations role
Desired Qualifications
  • Level 1 Certified under the GE Locomotive Service Certification Program or equivalent
  • Locomotive Service certification
  • Ability to interact, communicate, and influence change at all levels in the site organization
  • Strong project management skills and successes in leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality training
  • Contract negotiation and administration experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
