Job Description:

Family Resources is looking for a part-time DIETARY AIDE/COOK with a great attitude, committed to following nutritional guidelines: Is a team player, and enthusiastic to work for an organization dedicated to the successful well-being of children. This position will be responsible for the planning, preparing, and delivery of food services for our residents.

Position is part-time - 25 to 30 hours per week (summer/seasonal)

Position hours will be some weekdays and weekends between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM

The position will be located in Davenport


  • Prepares meals according to standardized recipes and National School Lunch (NSL) guidelines.

  • Assists in developing daily meal rotation menus.

  • Prepares & delivers meals on time per guidelines of NSL.

  • Maintains food storage and preparation areas per standards.

  • Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas at all times.

  • Helps supervise accurate meal count documentation.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Must be well groomed, in clean and proper clothing, and practices good personal hygiene at all times.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with managers, and other kitchen staff team members.

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

  • Must understand and follow all safety and sanitation procedures.

  • Must be able to safely and accurately handle kitchen utensils and other portioning and food preparation utensils.

  • Must be able to properly handle all kitchen equipment and report any equipment that is not functioning.

  • Ability to withstand heat in the kitchen (up to 90 degrees) for up to 8 hours.

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license. Experience in preparing food for large groups is preferred, but not necessary. Having ServSafe certification is preferred.
