Basic Function Located at the La Porte Complex, the Instrument & Electrical Maintenance Engineer will provide day to day technical support of instrumentation, control valves, Emerson AMS, low voltage electrical and other supporting equipment to area Maintenance Instrument specialist, Maintenance I&E technicians, and Operations/Technical. This includes support of reliability improvements, and expense projects as well as supporting maintenance efforts and drive improvements in maintenance work processes, procedures, performance, and cost.
Roles & Responsibilities • Develop and maintain Preventive (PM) and Predictive (PdM) Maintenance Plans and associated maintenance procedures or work instructions • Create / Update store stock requests and verify stocking levels • Support development of Obsolescence and Long-Range Plans, which includes identification of Bad Actor equipment and development of mitigation plans (i.e. AMS Initiatives, SIS, PLCs, and governor systems, etc.) • Develop and forecast spending plan in the maintenance expense budget (i.e. MCI, RELU, and OESEP) • Support Capital project organization in developing scope, participate in detailed design, and testing and execution phases of projects • Enforce application of corporate, industry, and company standards and procedures • Develop Instrumentation Turnaround scope • Support Area Reliability Improvement Teams • Lead / Participate in formal and informal incident investigation teams as required • Provide technical support to crafts and operations on technical requirements and issues with unit instrument and electrical systems • Participate in weekly production meetings with Operations and other support teams • Follow Outside Repairs • Ensure Data Management Systems are updated accordingly (i.e. SAP, Documentum, Instrument Spec Sheets, Controlled Drawings and Documents) • Mentor Co-op students and participate in the on-boarding process • Create Management of Change documents and lead evaluations for I&E Reliability initiatives
Min. Qualifications • B.S. in Electrical Engineering • Technical expertise of Instrumentation, Electrical Systems and associated equipment • Minimum of 6 years experience with Instrumentation and Electrical Systems • Commitment to GoalZERO Safety vision • Good verbal and written communication skills • Good leadership and organizational skills • Self-motivation and high initiative • Advanced level of interpersonal capability to provide timely and effective problem solving • Strong customer focus in order to understand priorities and ensure key business objectives are met in Safety, Reliability, and Maintenance Discipline • Experience using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point)
