Produces concepts / ideas to solve a particular problem, while working with stakeholders, within the constraints of existing design standards. Produces wireframes, interaction design, and visual design. Holds internal reviews with business and design peers. Works directly with a senior designer as part of the approvals process. Transitions designs to the business.

Technical & Design

  • Fully understands web design principles, like working on a grid, color selection, interactive components, mobile vs desktop vs responsive, page hierarchy

  • Adept at resizing images and modifying graphics using editing software

  • Working knowledge of wireframing / prototyping, and related programs (ex. Sketch, Invision, Axure) 

  • Beginner / intermediate skills working in an Agile cadence

  • Able to derive design elements from business requirements

  • Working knowledge of accessibility and usability principles

  • Working knowledge of information architecture

  • Able to apply standards to solutions

Soft Skills

  • Comfortable taking direction, asking questions for clarification, and working with IT and business partners

  • Able to participate interactively in requirement / working sessions

  • Respects process

  • Actively working towards mastery of negotiation skills

  • Able to be successful as one contributor among many voices in a collaborative environment

  • Able to listen to and thoughtfully interpret positions and requirements

  • Able to articulate thoughts, positions, and concepts through verbal and written communications, across audiences of varying size and technical acumen
