These programs include Techstars Startup Weekend and Techstars Startup Week, The teams that drive them are responsible for partnering with communities in more than 150 countries across the globe to power every step of the entrepreneurial journey.

Our ecosystem of Community Leaders are important to the success of Techstars Startup Weekend and Techstars Startup Week and engaging them is important to our growth. The Regional Manager is responsible for finding and recruiting community leaders in cities and therefore must be very comfortable building and maintaining virtual relationships/communities. This job works closely across the Community team community and customer success teams to ensure great partnerships between Techstars, Community Leaders and key Ecosystem stakeholders.

As a Regional Manager you will:

  • Source new Community Leaders using proactive outreach
  • Increase the quantity and quality of Techstars Community Programs in the region
  • Support local Community Leaders for Techstars partner events
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with other Community organizations in the region
  • Be the evangelist for Techstars Programs
  • Support initiatives and projects that target diverse communities and a variety of verticals
  • Maintain touch points with key entrepreneurs, mentors, and startups within Techstars strategic cities.
  • Grow and nurture the startup ecosystems in your region by identifying and cultivating key influencers within a city community (i.e. successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, community builders as potential Champions/Community Leaders.)
  • Work on a fully-distributed/remote and global team

Must have:

  • 2-4 years experience working with communities
  • Experience in digital marketing or working with virtual influencers or communities
  • Clear and articulate communication skills and the ability to drive engagement and motivate others to join
  • Strong organizational skills and is self motivated
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with diverse communities and differentiating support for those communities

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience working in a remote or distributed environment
  • Experience with Techstars Community Programs
  • Experience in customer service or conflict resolution
  • Fluency in Spanish, French, or Portuguese
