Position description

Performs imaging and Doppler ultrasound examinations on various organs and surrounding anatomy by means of two-dimensional or three-dimensional imaging. Provides appropriate Doppler and color flow and M-mode techniques as indicated for patient exams. Ensures all patient data is being properly archived in the radiology department digital archiving system (PAC's) and the radiology information system (RIS). Assists radiologist and other providers in ultrasound guided procedures. May work in hospital and clinic setting . Is available for 24-hour call with a 30-minute response time. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served as indicated below. Age of population served: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric

Qualifications

Registered sonographer or registry eligible. (ARRT or ARDMS). Employee must obtain registration in OB, abdomen, and vascular within one year of date of hire. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association, American Red Cross

Additional qualifications

Proven ability to work with co-workers, physicians, and all levels of health care professionals. Must have knowledge of pathology, diagnostic procedures and patient care procedures.

License or certification

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $31.16 per hour.

Varying shifts including days, PM's, weekends and overnight shifts. Able to work in various MCHS SWWI campuses and all procedures. Number of shifts per pay period variable, but could be requested up to full time.
