Job Description:

Do you have CAD design, drafting, and configuration management experience? Do you like working in an energetic environment with job responsibilities that vary from day to day? Do you want to make a difference for the safety of our Nation? The Southwest Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) has an exciting opportunity for an engineer who can bring skills to the table for a position in Weapons Design and Development.

Responsibilities include:

* Develop 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D CAD models

* Perform Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for manufacturing drawings

* Develop and maintain a Configuration Management System for Technical Data

* Aid in the procurement and dimensional verification of prototype hardware

Required Experience and Skills:

* Advanced Drafting Technologist Training, Associates Degree, or equivalent

* 5+ years' experience creating 2D manufacturing drawings

* 5+ years' experience with configuration control of technical data/drawings

* 5+ years' experience performing GD&T

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

* Familiarization with production of DoD Weapons

* Hands-on experience with prototyping and manufacturing

* Specific experience developing 3D models and 2D drawings using SOLIDWORKS

* Specific experience with configuration control using SOLIDWORKS Product Data Management (PDM) Vault

Essential Functions:

* Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

* US citizenship is required

* Use of SOLIDWORKS and PDM Vault to develop and maintain configuration control of DoD weapon system drawing packages
