Individual will be responsible for all operational and oversight duties associated with collateral management for the publicly traded REIT: WMC


REIT Operations Specialist:

Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities in support of collateral management for the REIT.

* Collateral Management

* Calculate potential margin calls to and from the counterparties

* Validate and issue margin calls

* Monitor collateral income proceeds

* Instruct receipt / delivery of collateral to / from the counterparties

* Monitor and calculate interest on cash collateral

* Dispute resolution and fails management

* Manage Collateral substitutions

* Manage re-hypothecation with a view of providing accurate cash to the investment team

* Support the trading desk by providing timely exposure and collateral movements

* Communicate and escalate pricing/margin disputes

* Act as a liaison between Custodian and counterparties for the investigation and resolution of issues

* Record daily collateral movements

* Interact with senior members of the REIT including the Controller, CFO, Accounting, and Portfolio Managers

* Oversight Functions:

* Daily exposure reconciliation to custodian to ensure calculation accuracy for appropriate demands/calls

* Identify and resolve discrepancies

* Weekly collateral balance reconciliation

* Monitor and calculate interest on cash collateral

* Support projects and initiatives

* Seek and drive opportunities to improve collateral processes and increase efficiency.


* Detailed knowledge of Middle/Back Office Operations

* Experience in Derivative Confirmations, Settlements, Margining and Collateral Management

* Knowledge of Repo/Reverse repos preferred

* Knowledge of REIT s preferred

* Familiarity with ISDA, GMRA, and MSFTA documentation preferred

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to interact and communicate with senior members of the organization

* Strong computer skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

* Strong VBA skills preferred

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills

* Strong attention to detail

* Self-starter who works wells independently as well as in a global team environment.

* Must be able to prioritize workloads and adhere to strict deadlines

* Three plus years of related experience

Academic Qualifications (minimum requirements):

Undergraduate degree in related field with strong academic record. Experience may offset academic requirements.
