COMPLIANCE ANALYST AND PRIVACY OFFICER

The budgeted hiring range for this position is $99,900. UC Riverside's Chief Compliance Office (CCO) coordinates the campus efforts under the University of California's ethics and compliance program. The Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Compliance Officer is charged with conducting internal investigations and responding to whistleblower reports. The CCO organizational also includes: - Title IX Office and other programs relating to the prevention of harassment and discrimination - Audit & Advisory Services - Campus policy program - Clery Act compliance. The CCO organization is dedicated to preventing, detecting and remedying misconduct, while demonstrating integrity, accountability, and excellence. The Compliance Analyst and Privacy Officer assists the Chief Compliance Officer in campus implementation of the University ethics and compliance program, promoting ethical conduct and addressing compliance risks. Coordinates UCR policy program, producing and maintaining campus policies and procedures. Acts as campus privacy officer, supporting the UC privacy principles. Manages institutional delegations of authority. Staffs and supports the campus Ethics, Compliance, Risk and Audit Committee.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Advanced degree in related field.
Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)
4 - 7 years of related experience.
Related experience at a higher education institute.
Ability to travel for UC related business, seminars, trainings, and conferences.
Ability to gather, organize, complete analysis and develop recommendations in the completion of assignments.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups. Skills in coalescing viewpoints and facilitating outcomes in group settings.
Applies thorough ethics and compliance concepts and applications in the completion of assignments. Skills in problem-solving.
Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft policies and procedures.
Broad knowledge of University ethics and compliance policies, procedures and programs.
Thorough knowledge of ethics and compliance profession, theories and systems of internal control, and professional compliance and investigations standards.
Familiarity with relevant compliance areas e.g. privacy (FERPA, HIPAA), export controls, public records acts, Clery Act, research compliance, conflicts of interest, conflicts of commitment.
Familiarity with university governance, administrative structures and practices.
