Responsibilities

The IT Technician performs test activities as part of cybersecurity validation and certification to the Common Criteria (ISO/IEC 15408). You will have the opportunity to work in direct contact with the key stakeholders to ensure an effective testing process. This includes using test (automation) tools, performing IT product configuration, independent testing and penetration testing. The IT Technician will also participate in the development of test procedure documents, test specifications, and contributes to the test automation. The position has growth potential to become a cybersecurity assurance evaluation engineer.
  • Configure IT products, virtual machines, routing, logging, certificate management and penetration testing.
  • Uses and configures test tools to standards and analyzes and validates the test results, reports on failures using database and templates
  • Learn IPsec, MACsec, TLS, and other technical specifications of the products being tested
  • Write test procedures, gather test evidence and write test reports
  • Manages projects according to the project plan and reports frequently on the progress of the work
  • Improve technical knowledge by using resources available to learn new technologies, product operation, and Common Criteria standard.
  • Contribute to knowledge development by sharing knowledge through presentation and documentation, writing technical documentation and sharing knowledge with peers
  • Contribute to optimizations through process improvements, development of test automation scripts or other topics to improve and grow the teams capability and UL's business
  • Performs other duties as directed


Qualifications

  • Ability to read and author technical documentation
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in a technical discipline
  • 1 year of directly related experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of computer networking is required
  • Basic knowledge of Linux is required
