Position Summary

The Psychometrician is expected to provide assessment and psychometric support in the areas of assessment design, measurement, administration, psychometric analysis, scoring, maintenance, and archive/documentation to both internal and external customers (as needed). Continue fostering Scantron as a national leader in the area of assessment, general measurement support through customer service, superior quality product and service, and contribution to the measurement field. The Psychometrician position can be filled in either the Morrisville, North Carolina or Eagan, Minnesota office. 

Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Psychometric and assessment activities that impact the validity of the Scantron Off-the-Shelf (OTS) products and custom products and services, including

  • Statistical analysis of item and test data (including both Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory methodologies)

  • Field testing activities

  • Norming studies

  • DIF analysis

  • Standard setting workshop facilitation

  • Contributing to the development of technical reports and other assessment-related documents related to Scantron products and assessment services

  • Quality control processes employed with the overall Assessment Development and Psychometric department to ensure quality of products

  • Research projects and activities that support Scantron products

  • Assessment industry representation for Scantron through paper publication, conference attendance, and association participation

  • May also serve on relevant R&D and cross-divisional teams, task forces, and other special groups.

Education & Experience Required

  • Master’s degree and 5 or more years of experience in a similar role or Doctorate degree in educational measurement and statistics, psychometrics, or a similar field from a nationally recognized institution.
