Job Functions:Job Summary
Accountable for hands-on leadership and performance of the Material Planning Group, which is responsible for purchases related production and non-production materials, component and other miscellaneous procurements within the organization. This position is also responsible for ensuring that targets are achieved through communication, teamwork and common goals.
Plan, direct, support and monitor activities of the Material Planning team to ensure demands are achieved.
Manage and support material class based teams in coordination with purchasing and supplier quality.
Approve expediting needs for production and After Sales.
Continuously improve performance of suppliers, develop and implement supply strategies.
Ensure on time delivery of material to meet customer and production/ After Sales needs.
Ensure inventory tracking and reporting is maintained and implemented for logistics organization.
Work with Inventory Control Manager to set inventory levels for material planners and ensure compliance.
Work with Inventory Control to ensure material forecasts for future requirements of supply base are accurate and reasonable.
Keep involved departments and staff aware of any changes in production or After Sales execution due to supplier delivery concerns.
Develop and implement cost reduction and cost avoidance ideas.
Represent the organization in meetings with suppliers, customers and other involved parties with the intent to build positive relationships that support the organization's best interests.
Assign, direct, and evaluate employee work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
Work to exceed defined KPIs.
Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about material scheduling.
Promote and support a culture that encourages corporate compliance and integrity code as well as safety and environmental procedures.
Continuous improvement through suggested solutions for process improvements.
Other tasks or special projects as assigned by manager.Qualifications:Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Supply Chain Management and 5 years of experience in material planning; or 9 years of related work experience
Preferred: Knowledge of MTU Onsite Energy and products and SAP experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
General PC computer skills
General understanding of product
Planning and organization: an ability to plan and manage multiple projects

Excellent knowledge of production planning, supply chain and/or materials management

Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

Strong presentation skills, proficient PC and MS Office Suite
Must be available to work flexible hours
Ability to travel - domestic and international
