The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast's top innovators. Designed for students whose curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, the co-op becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. Throughout the experience, there is opportunity for exposure to mentorship and professional development while having some fun along the way.
The Design Enablement team provides the "easy" button for development teams to consumer system admin shared services (patching, database provisioning, etc) as well as providing code/application delivery tools and orchestration.
The co-op position will be exposed to a number of development areas from UI/UX to orchestration and integration to backend database systems. The student will be trained and paired with senior team members to expose them to as many technologies that we work in while under the guidance of the team. The idea of the co-op for Comcast is to educate.
Co-op responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Ensures services are envisioned, designed, developed, and implemented across the enterprise to meet business needs.
-Presents solutions to senior architects.
-Ensures solutions are well engineered, operable, maintainable and delivered on schedule.
-Tracks and documents requirements for projects and enhancements.
-Assists in the development of solution architecture (both tactical and strategic) to fully manage/support enterprise needs, services, systems and technology management.
-Assists in the planning and design of new or upgraded systems.
-Interacts with departments to implement improvements in process.
-Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
-Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
-Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a United Statesbased college or university that has a cooperative learning track
-Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 23rd, 2019.
-Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering
-3.2 minimum cumulative GPA preferred
-Background in Linux/Unix and or Windows Administration
-Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, GoCD or an equivalent
-Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with Cloud Foundry is preferred)
-NoSQL experience is a plus
-A working understanding of code and script (Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
-Authorized to work in the United States of America
