AVP Personal Risk Services (PRS) IT Business Analysis Product Management
 
PRS IT is looking for an IT professional with a strong record of leadership, critical thinking, and a strategic mindset.  This person is an agent of change with the ability to drive Agile transformation within the Product Owner/Business Analysis group and throughout the department.  The ideal candidate is capable of aligning skills and talents to value streams for delivery of PRS objectives.  They are a proven thought leader with the ability to solve diverse business problems by utilizing a variety of strategies.  The individual is a self-starter who will lead a team and take ownership of projects delivering high-quality work products. 
 
Primary Job Responsibilities



  • Be a strategic partner with stakeholders collaborating on identification of solutions and  requirements for complex business problems including digital transformation and improved customer experience

  • Partner with Program Manager/Scrum Master to create program roadmap providing milestones, high level tasks and associated estimates

  • Provide leadership and direction to Product Owners/Business Analysts responsible for business requirements, definition and documentation of application deliverables for both Agile (SAFe) and Waterfall methodologies 

  • Responsible for development and documentation of user stories and business requirements for complex projects using Agile (SAFe) and Waterfall methodology

  • Provide time estimates for tasks, check points, deliverables and reviews to be included in project plans and program roadmaps

  • Responsible for staff management functions within the unit. Accountable for managing/monitoring staff performance in accordance with Corporate HR guidelines

  • Build and maintain a solid understanding of technology industry methodologies and trends

  • Maintain a broad business and IT product knowledge, including the impact of industry trends, regulatory changes, and relevant best practices specific

  • Follow the standards, procedures and methodologies in the project life cycle when developing and/or recommending solutions


  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree (preferred)

  • 8 – 10 years progressive experience in a systems analysis environment, with 8+ years in the business analysis domain

  • 5 + years experience in the insurance industry strongly preferred

  • IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent work experience

  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager Certification highly desired

  • Experienced in the entire systems development life cycle for both Waterfall and SAFe methodology

  • Familiarity with JIRA

  • Experience leading a team of Business Analysts/Product Owners

  • Experience initiating, conducting and facilitating discussions with multiple stakeholders, ability to translate results and issues to business and IT teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal / relationship management skills

  • Must be detail-oriented and thorough with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines

  • Must be pro-active with issue identification and resolution

  • Must have the ability to work effectively with business partners, IT management, and staff
