Title: Aircraft Engine Management Engineer Location:  Patrick AFB (Cocoa Beach), FL             Clearance:  MRPT (Public Trust)Citizenship Requirement: YesReq #: 2096Salary: Competitive Summary: Craig Technologies is recruiting for an Aerospace Engineer with over seven years of Aviation Engine Management Experience.  The successful candidate will join an Engine Management team tasked with full life cycle management of Engines for Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing Aircraft.  This will include everything from Configuration Management, to Maintenance/Overhaul cycle management to Engine Test as well as performance trend and event analysis and working directly with OEM’s for problem resolution. The Team will develop an Engine Management Plan for each engine type and will manage those assets in accordance with the approved plan.  There will be some travel involved to each of the downrange sites to help set up / train Maintenance and Quality Control personnel on their involvement in the new processes. Detailed Description:


  • Formulate conceptual design of aeronautical or aerospace products or systems to meet customer requirements.

  • Plan and supervise the assembly and fitting of aircraft and components

  • Evaluate product data and design from inspections and reports for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, and quality standards.

  • Meet goals and objectives by providing systems, resources, and training as needed.

  • Responsible for the engineering products of assigned tasks.

  • Provides engineering investigation support and technical leadership to maintenance managers.

  • Interface with all other departments to ensure a cooperative effort.

  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create engineering drawings as well as simulation models.

  • Prepare test plans, conduct ground and flight-testing programs on prototypes.

  • Collect, analyze, and report on test data.

  • Evaluate product data and design from inspections and reports for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, and quality standards.

  • Estimate project costs and time scales.

  • Review performance reports and documentation from customers and field engineers, and inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine problem.

  • Prepare and present briefings/status reports to managers and clients.

  • CONUS and OCONUS travel will be necessary

  • Position requires a U.S. Department of State Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT).

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 Position Requirements:

  • BS degree from a four-year college or university in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering *(Propulsion Focus in Degree track preferred)

  • Minimum 7 years relevant engineering experience.

  • Practical Engine Maintenance Experience

  • Must be proficient in the use of advanced statistical tools to conduct trend analysis and forecasting of engine health and performance.

  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a Medium Risk Public Trust (MRPT)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio) and computerized maintenance tracking programs necessary to perform job functions.

  • Must be able to read and communicate in English to a high level in both written work and orally Must be capable of multi-tasking.

 Desired Experience:

  • Degree emphasis on aircraft propulsion systems.

  • Master’s degree in aerospace engineering.

  • Experience in Aircraft Performance, Propulsion, and Flight Testing.

  • Experience in the design, maintenance, and management of turboprop and helicopter engines.

  • Engineer with some experience with Engine Program Management 

  • Understanding of practical engine performance

  • Experience in the development of comprehensive engine management plans which cover in detail all aspects of the engine life cycle.

  • Basic understanding of mathematical modeling of physical systems.
